Lettleiki Riding School
Carly Zaayer is our experienced director and resident instructor of our riding school program, with Lindsay Hillyer as assistant instructor here at Lettleiki Icelandics. We have been working with Alexandra Dannenmann of Global Icelandic Horse Services as our consulting trainer and instructor. Every year we have guest clinicians from Iceland and Europe visit for additional instruction.
Our riding school is for all ages and levels of riders. The primary goal of the riding school is to teach good horsemanship skills applicable to all breeds and riding styles. For more advanced students we offer more specialized Icelandic horse training lessons, for example: dressage exercises with the Icelandic horse, advanced gait training, riding the flying pace, competition training, etc..

Lettleiki Levels:
Lettleiki Levels is a badge program that is offered in conjunction with our lesson program. It is open to all students of any age and experience level. Currently we have developed seven levels, each individual level has a specific set of skills to master that allows for graduation into the next. Skills are a mix of practical and riding skills, and also include some written and oral knowledge. The goal of this program is to provide a more structured path of progress for our students.

Teaching Rates
The following rates are subject to change at Léttleiki Icelandics’ discretion. Special rates may apply with some guest instructors.
Practical Riding Lessons (may be with any Léttleiki Instructor):
Individual lesson: $65
Lesson Package (5 lessons): $275
Lessons are scheduled in one-hour blocks including appropriate care and preparation of horses before and after. Riding time is typically between 30-45 minutes, but may vary based on student needs. Students who are able to independently groom and tack may arrive early for their lesson in order to begin riding promptly at the lesson start time. Students arriving late will not have additional time added to their lesson and will have a shorter lesson with less ride time.
