Spaði frá Stuðlum is a stunning 2013 five-gaited stallion out of top honor prize mare, Þerna frá Arnarhóli, and famous sport stallion, Barði frá Laugarbökkum. Spaði’s eye-catching palomino coloring is just the start of his beautiful physique. He was the second highest evaluated six year old stallion of 2019 in Iceland with a score of 8.73. He earned a 9 for neck, withers, shoulders, back, croup and proportions. His willing temperament shows in his rideability score of 8.87, with 9’s for his tolt, pace, canter, spirit and general impression. Spaði’s breeders, Edda Björk Ólafsdóttir and Páll Stefánsson, of Stuðlar, received recognition as Breeding Farm of the Year for 2019 due to their fantastic breeding of both of the top two scoring six year old stallions of 2019, Spaði, and his half brother, Draupnir frá Stuðlum.

Spaði is a joy to ride with a naturally uphill, effortless tolt, very well separated gaits, and a calmness in his mind that lends to his trusting, sweet nature under saddle and on the ground. In March 2023 he was exported to Germany where he is currently in competition training and is standing stud at Kronshof.
