We welcome the newest member of our staff.  A thoughtful experienced trainer and teacher who is quickly applying her skills and knowledge to learning everything about the Icelandic horse!

As a young girl Kayleigh was always interested in horses. At the age of seven she began taking riding lessons and has been hooked ever since. She rode and competed hunter jumper up to age 14,  then decided to make the switch to three day eventing.
Looking to further her equine knowledge, Kayleigh attended the University of Kentucky and earned a BS in Equine Science and Management. During college she worked at the University of Kentucky’s thoroughbred breeding farm, where she gained hands on experience with mare and foal care and thoroughbred sales.
In addition, Kayleigh was a working student for Michael Pollard, who is ranked among the top 50 eventing riders in the world. Not only did she improve her riding while there,  but also gained valuable experience managing, riding, and handling breeding stallions. Upon graduating from college, Kayleigh worked as a barn manager and trainer at prestigious boarding facilities, where she excelled in working with young horses and off the track thoroughbreds.
Kayleigh has lots of experience with youth horse camps and teaching and will be helping to build our riding school program. We are also appreciating her experience and different perspectives from jumping, eventing and dressage as we expand our Icelandic horse training and lesson program. Kayleigh brought with her three HUGE thoroughbreds, who are fitting in well with our herd. We are  looking forward to her help in introducing our Icelandic horses to riders in other disciplines!
